Cargill Meat Solutions Recalls Ground Beef

Be cautious eating ground beef produced by Cargill Meat Solutions. More than 132,000 pounds of the meat has been recalled by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture after it infected 19 different people with E. Coli. So far, one of those has died. (more…)

Pesticides: More Harm Than Good?

Pesticides are chemical agents sprayed directly on to crops in order to repel rodents, insects and even invasive weeds. Although pesticides protect crops, they can also harm humans after prolonged exposure. The World Health Organization estimates that three million cases of pesticide poisoning are reported per year and that approximately 7 percent of cases lead to death.  (more…)

Chipotle illness outbreak strikes again

The latest Chipotle food-borne illness outbreak is the biggest outbreak yet by far in history. Nearly 700 people claimed they got sick at Powell, Ohio between the dates of July 26 and July 30. The symptoms included nausea, diarrhea, and fever. (more…)
