WHAT ARE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES?
Each focus area is directed by a community-based task force composed of concerned citizens and representatives of organizations working to address the health needs of Lancaster County. Subject area task forces are solution focused. The work groups both employ existing research and best practices while also leading new local efforts and health studies of problems and challenges facing the local community. Working in conjunction with the board of directors, each task force is charged with providing short-term strategies to prevent and/or address immediate crises in the community and with developing long-term tactics designed to reduce or, ideally, to eliminate health disparities in Lancaster County.
