Numerous studies have found direct links between lead poisoning and high rates of verbal, intellectual and emotional problems in children. Children who have been lead poisoned end up in prison at a rate that is eight times higher than those who have not.

Yesterday was a very important day because it kicked off the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Open Enrollment season! Not only was federal funding cut this year, but the open enrollment period is also shorter. This year’s ACA Open Enrollment period is November 1 – December 15, 2017.

CDC urges people to get flu shot now; There were 12 flu-related deaths in Lancaster County last year

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would like almost everyone six months and older to get the flu shot by the end of this month. Pennsylvania reported 148 flu-related deaths last season, including four in people under age 19. At least 12 of the deaths were in Lancaster County.
