Changing Oceans, Ice, Snow Affect Human Health, IPCC Report Says

Changes in ocean temperatures and ice patterns, due to global warming of the Arctic, have led to an increased risk of foodborne illness, malnutrition, contaminated seafood, and mental health issues, according to a new special report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).  (more…)

Paint Makers are Paying for Home Cleanups

A California court is requiring the paint companies that once sold lead paint to pay $400 million for the cleanup of old homes. Some paint companies agreed to the cleanup but tried to reduce the amount significantly. The U.S. Supreme Court stepped in and denied the reduced cost. Now the paint makers have to clean up their mess. (more…)
