Don’t get the flu this season. Get the flu shot and protect yourself BEFORE the flu season is in full swing. During the 2017-2018 influenza season, 80,000 people in the United States died and an estimated 900,000 were hospitalized because of the flu. Did you know that uninsured and Medicaid insured children are eligible for free immunization under the federally funded Vaccines for Children program? “Influenza is a contagious virus that can cause serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Paint Makers are Paying for Home Cleanups

A California court is requiring the paint companies that once sold lead paint to pay $400 million for the cleanup of old homes. Some paint companies agreed to the cleanup but tried to reduce the amount significantly. The U.S. Supreme Court stepped in and denied the reduced cost. Now the paint makers have to clean up their mess. (more…)

For those of you who have looked into the sun, the feeling of your eyes burning and watering is how your skin feels when exposed to the sun. Instead of crying, the skin gets damaged and this can eventually lead to skin cancer. Our skin is the largest organ in our body and it protects us from unwanted substances and harmful bacteria. Cargill Meat Solutions Recalls Ground Beef

Be cautious eating ground beef produced by Cargill Meat Solutions. More than 132,000 pounds of the meat has been recalled by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture after it infected 19 different people with E. Coli. So far, one of those has died. (more…)
